Ambry Genetics sent a team of sales, marketing and genetic counseling professionals to the 41st annual National Society of Genetics Counselors (NSGC) conference in Nashville, Tennessee, November 16-20, 2022. This was NSGC’s first return to a live, in-person annual meeting since 2019. Ambry’s participation included sponsored activities and speaking engagements to demonstrate their industry leadership. It was preceded by two months’ worth of social media and marketing to promote the activities they led during NSGC.

During NSGC, Ambry led seminars and symposia, presented posters, maintained a booth on the conference floor to answer questions from attendees, and led a significant networking event.

Two of Ambry’s Senior Clinical Research Specialists presented posters virtually. Meghan Towne discussed, “Diagnostic rates of exome-based neurology panels.” Carrie Horton presented, “Improved equity in genetic testing: The role of high throughput functional evidence.”

Boots & Blue Genes Event at NSGC

Another highlight was Ambry’s “Boots and Blue Genes” networking event where over 850 conference attendees mixed and mingled. Other important highlights of this meeting included the Pre-Conference Symposia, where 225 genetic counselors met to refine their business skills. In addition, Ambry hosted a breakfast symposium with over 350 genetic counselors in attendance to support participation in The CARE Program™.

Results from the conference led to hundreds of actionable leads. Ambry is also analyzing the input from the voice of customer (VoC) interviews held at the meeting. They conducted more than 20 interviews, supplying them with invaluable client feedback. Ambry posted successes and activities from NSGC on their social media pages with plans to leverage the information from the conference through the end of the fiscal year and into 2023.

NSGC is a shining example of One Ambry, with everyone coming together to create a successful event, and lay the foundation for future activities.
